Working Insurance Sales Leads By Bonding or Burning?

Should You Cozy Up To Clients in the Internet Age?

We do see a split between the way insurance agents deal with clients these days, and also how clients perfer to be treated. Some clients do want an agent they can call on the phone for service, and they appreciate getting a birthday or holiday card. Many more clients prefer the speed of the internet, and their ability to compare insurance quotes without having to talk to an agent. They may be happy to get quick internet quotes without having a long conversation, especially when they are concerned about being pressured to buy something!

We found an interesting article on handling insurance prospects and clients here. They believe that the age of the client matters somewhat. In a very general way, younger clients may prefer the internet or emails. Older clients may expect more service. However, they also point out that you cannot generalize which style is better all of the time, andthe best way to figure out how to handle your client is to just come out and ask them.

Is it so hard to ask, “Mr. Smith, would you prefer a phone call or an email?” No, I think that is what you should be doing, and when you approach your prospect or client in the way they are comfortable with, and do not just assume how they want to be treated, then you will be much more likely to be appreciated by them.

Internet Insurance Leads Sources That Work

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

We have already discussed the good thing about internet insurance leads. First, the leads come from consumers who are looking for insurance products! Secondly, agents pay for leads they get! If you put an ad in the yellow pages or a newspaper, you have no way to only pay for people who respond.

We have three sources that have had great feedback from actual insurance agents. The main page is here: internet insurance sales leads - and the page goes over the three companies, what is good about them, and the type of leads they have.

Basically the companies will filter leads on agent specifications like location, type of insurance, and other specific factors. They will also take a return return on bogus leads, because no computer software can completely edit this out.

Digital Agent

Monday, March 26th, 2007

The digital agent system is not a place to buy leads, but rather a system of generating and using leads, and of selling from your office without having to visit with prospects. In other words, it develops the idea of using the tools available to you - fax, computer, telephone to make sales without having to set personal appointments with clients.

I think the Digital Agent system is very valid - and yes, I have purchased a copy. Mark - the developer - will follow up with personal phone calls and even his IM and email so you can get help when you need it. He certainly wants everybody to feel statisfied with their purchase.

He concentrates on life insurance, but I think the system can be applied to health insurance and other products. He also concentrates on developing your existing customer base. Learn more about digitial agent here.

QuotesAuction.com

Free Leads Promotion - Click Here

Quotes Auction provides a very flexible pricing and quote request system. Insurance leads prices are very competitive, and they allow agents to choose specific filters based on area, risk, age, etc. that will increase or decrease the price of the leads. They pride themselves on quality control, and I know from working with one of their sites, they will credit bogus leads that get through.

At the end of the leads process, the consumer is actually informed that they will be contacted by an insurance agent, so that should help eliminate the misuderstandings that we may find with online consumers.

They also have a partner site that “clears” out unsold leads at bargain prices, so it may be a good opportunity to pick up some gems that other agents have missed or were not signed up for.

At the time of this post, QuotesAuction will start a qualified insurance agent off with $200 worth of free leads to try out their service.

Home Town Quotes

I think Home Town Quotes is always available for customer service, and they also provide services to agents beyond just providing leads. They also provide a wide range of insurance quotes. Beyond the usual individual health, life, auto, homeowners, and long term care, Home Town Quotes provides insurance leads on annuities, group health, disability, and renters insurance.

Since Home Town Quotes was started by insurance agents, they understand the issues that we may have faced with lead companies in the past, and to work to remedy these problems with their service. This service is a little newer and smaller than some of the other lead companies, but I believe they really have that “#2 try harder!” attitude! One of the things I really like about this company is that they provide a free monthly newsletter for all of their agents which is packed with tips on growing business and the best way to really squeeze every last commission dollar out of your internet leads investment!
